USAsoccerCamps.com is a website that will help provide relevant information about soccer camps in the United States. There are several soccer camp links and soccer camp ads placed through out the site. With soccer growing in popularity across the world and the USA, demand has also grown for soccer camps. There are many different types of soccer camps that are available for players to choose from. On a local level, in most fairly large cities there should be some type of soccer camp. At this level, the coaches and instructors could be from some of the local schools or even some of the youth leagues around town. Some of the teachers could be college players that are home over the summer. These types of camps can be daily or weekly depending on the local facilities. There is a good chance that at the local level there can be both boy's and girl's soccer camps. Most areas even have a boy's youth soccer camp and even girl's youth soccer camp, even if it is just a couple of hours a day. The cost of any soccer camp depends on the level of expertise of coaches teaching the course, what meals, if any are provided, whether the student stays over night, the number of coaches/student ratio, the number of days or hours that are taught over the camp period, and many other factors. Also, some camps are age specific and don't teach every stage of soccer developement. Some of the local areas do have day or half day camps for very young kids under the age of ten. On average, most camps provide soccer courses for early teens through high school age. |
Most soccer campers will need to do plenty of research in order to see if each camp provides the type of coaching they are looking for. Some camps are there to provide mostly fun and little individual coaching, while other camps will teach some of the basic and important soccer moves and detail soccer strategy. A good rule of thumb is the longer a player has been playing soccer and the more serious they are about the sport, the more soccer specific teachings they may want out of a soccer camp. The key is for all soccer players to enjoy their camp and hopefully increase their love for playing and watching the sport of soccer. |
Many college schools do have some type of youth soccer camps, often taught by both their men's and women's soccer coaches over the summer. These camps help raise money for the coaches and also gives good exposure for the college itself. For a kid that has a favorite college team, this can be a blast. Don't expect to be taken very seriously as a potential future college player though, since this is not the way a college typically recruits players. |
Then there are some soccer camps taught by some of the professional soccer teams. Most of these camps are being run in the city that the USA pro soccer team plays in. It is good PR for the team and provides a service for the city and wins some future fans and extra money to boot! There are even some US soccer camps being run by British soccer firms, foreign soccer companies and soccer equipment providers. Some of these camps bring out the big guns of soccer with world class players and some of the top pro world soccer players. Sometimes though, just because there are big names in camp doesn't necessarily mean it is a better camp than another camp that may cost much less. Be sure and do a detailed check list of soccer camp price, daily soccer routines, over night soccer camp facilities, number of soccer coaches per student, type of soccer teachings and how they will make sure all kids are safe while in their care. |
